Buy Brogue Shoes For All Occasions
Your footwear not only forms an important part of a full attire, but it can also enhance your overall look. Shoes can be utilitarian, but they can also be dressy, casual, or formal. Brogue shoes can now fit into any of these categories and are shoes for all occasions.
Brogues Shoes: The Origins
Brogue shoes were originally made for navigating the wet and muddy terrain of Ireland and the Scottish Highlands. The boggy terrain made it hard for men to walk on, often making their footwear muddy and slippery. Brogue shoes were constructed from untanned leather, with prominent perforations and serrated edges in the uppers of the shoes. These helped drain the moisture from the shoes and kept them as free of the slippery mud and damp as possible. These were mens shoes , designed to negotiate rough terrain.
The laces in these shoes were originally designed so that they could be tied high up on the legs, above the ankles. This design prevented the ties from being loosened by the mud and moisture. Thus, each aspect of these firm and sturdy low-heeled shoes were designed with utility and ruggedness in mind. They were outdoor shoes and were not meant for formal or dressy occasions.
Brogues for men
Brogues for men evolved over time and the design was integrated into other shoe styles like the Oxfords and the Derbys. Thus, Brogues can be Oxfords or other types of shoes, some Oxfords can be Brogue shoes with their distinctive characteristics, and brogues can be casual, formal, or dress shoes. All these can create confusion when you're shopping for brogue shoes online. Just remember that brogue shoes today can be styled as many different types of shoes. Their distinctive features are the prominent eyelet perforations and the distinctive edges in the joints of the pieces that form the upper. These help create shoes with eye-catching edges and eyelets. Combined with different styles like open or closed lacing and different toe caps, brogue shoes can stand out even in formal versions.
