  • Description

Revisit the fantasy and the mythology of the Ramayana in this graphic novel reimagination of Valmiki’s great epic. Ramayan 3392 A.D. tells the story of Rama and his brothers who hope to one day use their mighty weapons to bring down the evil demon-lord Ravan.

    Summary of the Book

The world has been wracked by nuclear war. In the third age, the world is divided into two continents: Nark and Aryavarta. The last kingdom of humans exists within the confines of a city called Armagarh. This city is governed by the King Dashrath, whose four sons, Rama, Lakshman, Shatrughan and Bharat are mighty warriors. They are sent to the outposts of the kingdom to help them against the Asuras. Rama and his brothers are troubled by the demonic hordes that plague the land and hope to end the war by taking it to the demon-lord, Ravan. However, Ravan is no ordinary demon, and he is far more powerful than anyone realizes. But it is Rama’s destiny to one day face Ravan and destroy him. That is a fate that will need Rama to undergo turmoil unlike any he has ever imagined, and in doing so, he will meet a woman who will change his life forever.

Nice story! Excellent Art! OK paper quality. Poor Cover quality

I loved this series. Interesting and Gripping storyline. Lovely graphics.
But the paper quality is fine only, not very good. and the cover will fall off in one reading only.

    Very good read

Let me cover this topic by topic.

    Art & paper:
One of the best penciled and coloured comics I've seen in recent times. But the choice of printing paper is godawful! The paper and printing don't seem to take the colours properly, and you end up with details and contrast being lost.
Note to publisher: Please release a deluxe version (similar to Moore's Killing Joke) with better quality paper and printing.

    Story:
The overall plot remains loyal to the original source, and meanders in that gener...

Best Indian comic ever. Yes better than Nagraj

I have always been a comic fans. right from my childhood i have been following most of the Indian comics like Super commando dhruv, Nagraj, chacha choudhary, billu, agniputra abhay, doga, bhokal, twinkle etc. my favourite being Raj comics. i equally enjoyed DC comics and some times Marvel but they were always too expensive to buy.
Some how i always felt that DC universe or tintin or astrix were always more beautiful, detailed or simply cooler than indian comics. indian comics mostly lacked ori...

    Great story, great concept

It's a brave effort trying to rejig the age old epic, and the superb storyline, artwork and script does justice. Do not expect the classic Ramanyan, coz this is not the same. Only read this if you are open to a complete redux.
Coming to the quality of the printing and binding - it's a whole different story. Sub par paper, dark print (literally!) that steals thunder from the artwork, and bad quality pasting that comes off within 2 days (trust me - I know how to handle books) - not a good exper...

    Worth the Price !!

    What's Different:

Firstly the story is NOT the exact replica of the original. (To which I'm quite thankful). The Writer has taken the liberty of tweaking a few characters (I've especially loved what he has done to Lakshman and his relation with Ram) and few pivotal events. (which is actually pretty good)

What I loved most about this particular volume is that one need not know all the characters that existed in the original. The Writer has explained the characters' relations, instead of sim...

    Broad minded readers Preferred.....

the story is entirely different from the original Ramayan although AWESOME , so if you are going to buy it for your kids or nephews etc. to give them wisdom of the epic, this is not the stuff although, if you want to make these epic characters as their all time favorite superheros this is the stuff.

for comic fans. the art levels up with those of batman detective comics(the one with awesome art).must read for everyone who came across this epic ever in any form/version.story is actually the g...

A wonderful combination of Mythology and Modern Science

Amazing graphic book. I have been waiting to get this from US since it was not published in India since the last 5-6 years... The storyline is based on what everyone familiar with the Ramayan knows.. but the presentation is what takes it to a different level. I would highly recommend this book and the other book in the series to every graphic comics lover !!!

The dark side of the Ramayan

As the title suggests, this version of the Myth is set in a post apocalytic future. The characters are darker, meaner and larger than life and can be easily related to by the current generation of Indians who are familiar and comfortable with the hollywood genre of mythic/science fiction films. This book and its sequels make for fantastical reading and the great thing about them is that they are free from religious pompousness and political correctness. They can be enjoyed for just what they...

    Amazing

I do not a fan of reading. But while haveing coffeer in CCD I picked one of these comics and went though couple of pages and kind a liked it as well.

After I reached home checked on flipkart and ordered them,

When I started reading I was amaze with the way story goes and how the characters and goal of ramayana remained same with the twist in story line.

I am sure there is a lot of thought and work has gone through while making of these and it is really worth.

I have ordered the latest ...
