  • Description
The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) strictly condemned extremism in all its forms. His teachings reflect: Facilitating ease Removing hardships Lightening burdens Creating comfort Giving guidance Helping others The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is a model of immense patience and gentleness. His teachings reflect: Tolerance Love Kindness Forgiveness Patience Respectfulness The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the most generous, hospitable and welcoming for all. His teachings reflect: Gentleness Generosity Benevolence Clemency Overlooking others’ flaws The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the most generous, the most kind, the most gentle, the most valorous and the most humble. He cast his eyes down more often than up. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was very compassionate and loving, especially to women, the elderly and children. When the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) promised something to someone, he would fulfil his promise without fail at the first opportunity. Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was asked for something, he would give it if he had it. If he did not have it, he would not refuse, but would try to manage it for the needy. He never said no. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) spoke very clearly, separating each word, so that one could easily count his words if one cared to. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) liked to sit and watch running water and greenery. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) never kept anything for tomorrow. Sometimes neither he nor his family had anything to eat for days. They often ate barley bread. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) ate what was on his side of the plate; he never reached for a morsel in the middle of the plate. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) liked to give gifts and advised his people to do the same. He would say that giving gifts brings people together. When any of the Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) wives became ill, he took care of them and cooked soup for them saying, “Drink! This will cleanse the pain and sadness in the heart of the sick as water cleanses the dirt of a person’s body.” The Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) Mercy Towards Daughters and Young Girls in General: Abu Said al-Khudri (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of God (pbuh) said: “Whenever a person has three daughters, three sisters, two daughters or two sisters; fears God regarding them (their upkeep and in terms of treating them with honour and kindness); and does good to them (by being kind and generous towards them), then that person enters Paradise.” The Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) Mercy Towards Orphans: Abu Hurayra (may Allah be well pleased with him) related that the Messenger of God (pbuh) said: “If one provides for, takes care of and raises an orphan—regardless of whether that orphan is a relative of his or not—then I and he will be like these two in Paradise.” Explaining what the Prophet (pbuh) meant by “these two,” Malik, one of the narrators of the hadith, pointed to his index and middle fingers. The Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) Mercy Towards Widows and the Poor: Abu Hurayra (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “A person who strives to take care of the needs of the widow and the poor man is like one who struggles in the way of God, or like one who stands during the night (to pray) and fasts during the day.” The Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) Mercy Towards Widows and the Poor: Abu Hurayra (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “A person who strives to take care of the needs of the widow and the poor man is like one who struggles in the way of God, or like one who stands during the night (to pray) and fasts during the day.” The Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) Mercy Towards Prisoners: Abu Musa (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of God (pbuh) said: “Set prisoners free, feed the hungry and visit the sick.” The Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) Mercy Towards the Sick: Thawban (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of God (pbuh) said: “Whoever visits a sick person remains among the khurfa of Paradise until he returns [from his visit].” Abd Allah b. Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with both of them) heard the Messenger of God (pbuh) saying: “If a Muslim clothes another Muslim, he will remain in the protection of God so long as a shred of that cloth is left on him.” The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “When someone supplicates for his brother in his absence, the angel says: ‘May you be credited with the equivalent (of what you have prayed for your brother)!’” According to Jabir b. Abd Allah (may Allah be well pleased with him): “The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: ‘Every act of righteousness is a charitable donation. Your meeting your brother with a smiling face and pouring from your pail into your brother’s pail is also piousness.’” The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “If someone covers the faults of anyone in this world, God will cover his faults in the Hereafter
