About the Author
C. M. K. Reddy graduated from Guntur Medical College underwent 5 years of training in general and vascular surgery at Johns Hopkins University Baltimore; returned to India after qualifying for FRCS (Ire) join teaching faculty at Stanley Medical College in 1970. He was Honorary Professor of Surgery (1977-99); acclaimed as a very popular teacher and an expedient surgeon he created a medical video library at Stanley by recording over 60 of his operations to teach operative surgery to students at a levels. He founded Halsted Surgical Clinic in the name of the teacher of his teachers at Hopkins carrying regular teaching activities to benefit postgraduates and practitioners. His academic achievements include writing a book on surgical embryology and genetics being invited to Colorado University of Health Sciences as visiting professor and to Ireland to examine FRCS; receiving the prestigious Dr BC Roy National Award as eminent medical teacher Honorary FRCS from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and lifetime Achievement Award from the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University.
J. S. RAJKUMAR is a graduate of Madras Medical College with several academic distinctions and gold medals in MBBS MS and National Board including the John stone Medal. He qualified from a the four Royal Colleges (UK and Ireland) to become a highly sought-after clinical teacher and surgeon in the country. He traveled widely teaching and operating in countries like Republic of Maldives and Sri Lanka. Currently President of the Tamilnadu and Puduchery Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India he has a special interest in surgical gastroenterology and advanced laparoscopic surgery which he acquired during his training in several centres in UK including the Kings College Hospital London and was a key member of Indias first liver transplant surgery at Chennai. He is a clinical instructor and examiner to FRCS (Ed) has presented several scientific papers in regional and national meets on various current surgical subjects and conducted successful laparoscopic workshops in over thirty cities in India. He is the Founder-Chairman of the lifeline Multispeciality Hospitals and a Chartered Member of the College of Surgeons of India.
