Fabulous writing
This is one of the best books read in Hindi. Fabulous writing and social theme. The degeneration of dreams and family as the society progresses..is clearly depicted. The land snatching, dabangai culture of some parts of India is protrayed well.
In the end, life is what loneliness is as kids left and never returend to the copse of Raghunath.
Highly recommended for those who knows literature as the mirror of the society. All the goings are easily related as the writer has vividly depicted.

Simply Nice
One of best book in hindi i have read in recent times. After reading this book i feel like buying all the books written by Kashinath Singh Ji. Someone has rightly mentioned that he is Premchand of modern times.

This book is an excellent portrayal of the present day" Indian Middle Class" families die-lamas between "Traditional values" and "Success- as defined by modern day Society.
Dr.Kashinath singh's Style is gripping and the flow of the story takes you like the Waves of the Holy river Ganges( May be because Dr. singh belongs to the holy city of Varanasi)
Must read for ALL such people born in Early Fiftees(1950s).

A fantastic story of Modern day relationships among humans
Ordered this Hindi novel in April 2013. Flipkart delivered promptly it in 2 days.
Coming to book i must say this novel gives a new horizon to Kasinath Singh's writings. The protagonist of story Mr. Raghunath - a contemporary Indian middle class aging man, His wife and their relationship with their children and other relatives. The story ends with a fascinating account of how Raghunath conspires his own Kidnapping with some goons who actually came to take his signature forcefully on a paper.

Great Modern Hindi Marvel
This hindi novel was a great read. It's a contemporary novel depicting the modern times.
It's a great portrait of the different human relationships that exist around us. We might give more value to our blood relations. But often we find people not our blood relations more trustworthy and more worth living for. This particular aspect is what I liked the most. In Writer's words: ‘I had lost hope of getting any award for Kashi Ka Assi. It was a popular novel but was often dismissed because of liberal use of the language with local flavour. Logon ne use gaaliyon ka pulinda hee man liya (people dismissed it as a collection of abuses).
