About the Author
Professor (Dr.) Dommalapati Krishnamurthy  A Commonwealth scholar.educated in India at the universities of Madras Sri Venkateswara. Calcutta and in the United Kingdom at the University of Glasgow. Joined teaching profession in l958 and continued teaching and research since then. He became Professor of Civil Engineering in 1972 in M.A. College of Technology (Regional Engineering College) Bhopal. India from where he was on deputation to Government of Iraq and served the University of Sulaimanyah during 1977-79. From 1979-89 he taught in the University of Jordan and from 89·91 in the University of Qatar as Professor of Civil Engineering. Currently since Jan 1991 he is a Consultant Structural Engineer in Consultancy Service Division of BED in the Ministry of Municipal Affairs &  Agriculture-Doha-State of Qatar. His special interests are on low cost housing and on industrial buildings and his innovations have been successfully implemented in india.His innovative light weight steel roof trusses for industrial building sare being extensively used in India for over three decades. He has published over forty technical papers on reinforced and pre-stressed concrete bamboo reinforced concrete. uncured fiber reinforced concrete and on low cost housing. new flooring systems called sandwiched slab to cover large spans with shallow depths in national and international journals.

Dommalapati Madhumalathi A Graduate in Civil Engineering and trained in structural analysis and design through computer programming. Conducted lectures and seminars on information technology for staff of various organizations in India.Currently she is working in U.S.A. on IT projects.
