The Richest Man In Babylon, by George S. Clason, is a must-read book for all those who want to reach the pinnacle of financial success. The book teaches readers more than a thing or two about being thrifty, saving and investing wisely through timeless Babylonian parables.

    Summary Of The Book

In Babylon, Arkad, Bansir and Kobbi happen to meet and discuss their respective financial standings. The latter two then ask Arkad his secret to wealth, the answer to which Arkad gives by relating his past experiences. At the end of Arkad’s story, which involves Algamish, an extremely rich man and his advice to this Babylonian, Bansir and Kobbi learn about the road to richness. Algamish in particular, advises Arkad that every man must save at least one tenth of his income and if possible more to become richer.

The Richest Man in Babylon is essentially a compilation of parables that dispenses advice on financial matters to one and all. The characters created by Clason are relatable to readers as just like the common man, they too go about managing their business and personal finances. It is this relevance of the book to ordinary householders that makes it an uplifting classic to people even in the modern era, although the stories are all set in ancient Babylon.

This timeless read very effectively puts across the crucial message that one must learn to live within their means. Saving and investing have also been given their due importance in the book as a means to becoming richer. What additionally makes The Richest Man In Babylon a compelling read is the fact that it has been written in such a well-written language that there probably is no one who has read the book that has not understood what they exactly need to do to improve their financial standing.

Originally written by Clason as individual pamphlets to be circulated by insurance firms and banks, the notes were bound in a book form first in 1926. So far, the book has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide and is regarded as the best book for all ages for those seeking financial advice.

BEWARE !!! FAKE ALERT! This is an INTERPRETATION and NOT THE ORIGINAL BOOK.

This is NOT the "Richest Man in Babylon" classic you are looking for. This is some interpretation by some Karen Mc-WHO-CARES! This person has used the name of the book and original author's name at the top as a MARKETING GIMMICK. And at the bottom of the cover in a font which "blink and you miss" is the line "52 BRIGHT IDEA INTERPRETATION BY...blah blah".

The original book is the one suggest at the top of the reviews!

    Treasure trove of timeless wisdom

Fabulous book full of fables. Many a reviewer seem to get carried away by other reviews mentioning that this book is more about investment and financing. But it is largely up to the reader to discern the embedded truth and exact the general principles and values suggested to succeed in life. Some statements like 'Wealth grows where men exert energy' that are just mentioned in the passing, hold such profound truth and wisdom that is for the reader to grasp and assimilate the content. Overall, ...

The Best book on Personal Finance

This is a classic book on wealth. This book has less than 150 pages and it covers almost all important aspects of wealth creation and financial success. It covers savings, budgeting, investing in general, investing in home, retirement planning, increasing one’s ability to earn and insurance.

Though this book primarily deals with the subject of money, you can see how money affects other areas of life like friends and family. I believe the famous “Pay Yourself First” quote originated in this b...
