Well crafted industry thoughts by a true industry leader who has witnessed change !

I have read many books who try to guide you through the basic principles of corporate world and suggests the means which one should adopt in order to ensure he or she is successful. But more often than none i ended up learning rather than the yearning ! They sounded like mere sermons, not to de-mean the efforts that were taken. This book somehow has stood out for me especially some of the concepts that the writer states are so simple and is filled with a pragmatic touch rather than "going by...

    Golden Nuances

Highly recommend reading by not just young new career enthusiasts but also by mid career professionals. I believe Sumit has collected golden nuances from some very successful people which are so real that sometimes you identify with them yourself and sometimes you find answers to some of the questions that arise in a serious career. I also believe the ordering of different topics is so well placed that it takes you step by step with real life examples related to the topics well positioned. I...

    Truly Amazing Book

Most of the self-help books enumerate lots of rules to be followed, and memorizing those rules itself becomes a daunting task unless you internalize those. However, "Rules of the Game" left me spellbound in multiple ways. On one hand, the book introduced certain new ideas - treat career like a game and create your own rules, create your own brand, invest in relationships, on the other, it also re-validated some existing concepts - the importance of teamwork, communication, presentation, feedb...

You can get ahead of others in the career-run by reading this book

Average reading speed being a book per day, I completed Sumit D Chowdhury's latest novel "Rules Of The Game" in 15 days. No, it is not for the wrong reasons but because every sentence contained lots of meaning that was not meant only for reading but to get it inculcated and imbibed in the personality to be successful in our corporate, professional and business life. If Robin Sharma can be termed as someone who shows you the way to be Leader and Motivated in your life, Sumit Chowdhury can be e...

    Precious Reading Material

I've reservations about the corporate way of functioning. Macroscopic view is that ultimate goal of corporate is not ethical this however has nothing to do with this book except one that I stopped reading corporate stories after Gita Piramal's Business Maharajas simply because I view corporate as the club of bad guys.
Until when I heard Nitin Paranjpe speaking upon the 'Credo of the society" in which he said 'purpose must lead and process should follow' in his 3 minute speech at Forbes India...

A book that tells you how

I have read many self help books and all their content is mainly sermonizing. All that is great but how do you do it ? This book surprisingly tells you how.
It is easy to read and follow in your life. The one thing that I liked most about it is that it says there is no one set of rules. The rules change with your game. So essentially we all make our own rules.
When we start viewing life as a game its much easier to plan ahead. Battle is a zero sum game , business is mostly not. So with the gu...

    A must-read for young professionals

I have read a lot of books in the area of career management, leadership and teamwork. However, "Rules of the Game" is completely different from the rest and can add real value if the concepts are internalized.

The basic premise of this book is the following: the mindset, attitude and habits required to succeed in one's career needs to follow a conscious plan. People who have succeeded in their careers show a particular pattern of consistent behaviour and it's not just luck. This isn't a boo...

Excellent book for professionals and understanding corporate life

This book is truly helpful in understanding the corporate life and delivering some valuable insights about professional life. This books stands apart from other self-help books because it enumerate critical rules to be followed in much interactive and easier way, and thereby helping to internalize them. "Rules of the Game" introduced the concepts which can be highly beneficial in growing in organization through concepts such as of 'learning how to learn' by putting ART cycle in practice. It i...
