I purchased 2 SSD
-250 GB for my custom build Gaming and Virtualization Desktop(i7-4790k).
-500 GB for my Dell Inspiron 7000 (7537) laptop.
Boot time:-
Laptop = 3-5 second (Win 8.1)
Desktop = 12-15 Second (Win 7 Ent) even after multiple boot time apps installed.

Will share only my experience as stats are already there on websites. just type compare SSD on google.
My previous hard disk in my laptop was 1TB 5400 rpm seagate which initially performed well and the normal boot time was about 30 seconds which gradually in 1 year became 2-3 minutes before I could open any app. even with 8GB RAM and i7 processor.

The speed of my laptop increased 5 times faster.
I use Linux and opensource solution mostly, virtualization etc.
The latency time is very less so it copy data faster from peripheral like usb and to other devices.

i m using i 5 ,16gb ram but in HDD its take atlist 2min load PC but with SSD its only 30sec or less
