She'S A Jolly Good Fellow (English, Paperback, NAIR SAJITA)
She's a Jolly Good Fellow is Sajita Nair’s maiden novel which provides a delightful insight into the life of women officers in the Indian Army.
Summary of the Book
She's a Jolly Good Fellow is the story of Second Lieutenants, Anju and Deepa, among the first few women to join the Indian Army. Set in 1994, the story is weaved around the struggles of women in a male-dominated world. Deepa and Anju get commissioned into a remote army unit in distant Bengdubi. Although they have strikingly different personalities – Deepa is more officer, morally uptight and confident, while Anju is all feminine and lady like, they are like the proverbial chalk and cheese. The two officers choose to tread vastly different paths, which converge again at a most unexpected juncture. Witty, humorous and very entertaining, She’s a Jolly Good Fellow will make for an interesting and engaging read.
