    A treasure for your shelf

It is never before written paradigm of successful Indian women, to inspire both men and women all over the world. An anthology of biographies of 24 iconic women, profiling names like Nita Ambani, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Indra Nooyi, Priyanka Chopra, Shabana Azmi, Ritu Kumar, Sudha Murty, Sania Mirza, and more.

What I like about the book, other than the distinct stories of all the women, is that every story is followed by an interview with their namely confidants and well-wishers. The book inclu...

Unique style and structure, real life stories

What I particularly liked about SWSL is its unique style and structure. Not only do you get to hear the voices of the women whose stories are being shared, you also have several quotes from people who have been important to these women. In addition, every story is followed by one detailed interview of a significant person from her life. So its not just one point of view – the reader gets several perspectives from each story.

Book Review : She Walks, She Leads - Gunjan Jain

Please visit my blog, Errors And Kaushal, to read the complete review of the book.

She, who is she? It took some time for 'she' to tell the world about her arrival, but better late than never.

The book is an authorized collection of growth story of 24 Indian women across various fields like sports, business, entertainment, etc. Apart from the 24 Indian women, more than 130 other Indian personalities, their family members, their colleagues and their friends, have also shared some insights ab...

    A good inspirational read

I don’t generally read non-fiction books, but my dad gifted me this one. He had read about it in the papers and he felt that it would be a good inspirational read for me. I must say that I was really doubtful about finishing it because I only read novels. But, I enjoyed this one totally. Probably one of the reasons is that all the chapters are written like stories about the lives of these women so it feels more like a collection of short stories. I like the fact that the writer has put in her...

A must have for biography lovers

Being a fan of biographies, I try to get my hands on any I come across. Reading about famous people gives me a sense of hope and motivation that fiction really can’t. My last biography – and the one I just finished – was the Penguin published ‘She Walks, SheLeads’. It’s not one, but actually a collection of 24 biographies written by Gunjan Jain. Elaborating on the lives of 24 women who have been leaders in their domain – from business, to sports, to films, to fashion – this has to be one of t...

    She Walks, She Leads

Book Review : 'She Walks, She Leads' by Gunjan Jain

I am getting to read a lot of books, books I have thought that I thought I wouldn’t like too much. But some of them surprise me, no end. And one such book was ‘She Walks, She Leads’ by Gunjan Jain. It lists 24 different women of different fields.
Whether, it is business or corporate, law or entertainment, or they could be writers, players or even movie actors. Even fashion designers too, and sports, it is just raining women, all the way. ...

    Book Review

I did not read this book in the order it is written in. I started with Sania Mirza's story because I am a big fan. Despite the fact that I read all the articles that are about her in newspapers and magazines, I came to know many things about her that I did not know. It was very interesting to read about what other sportspeople have said about her. And then I read the other stories…again randomly based on who I wanted to know more about. What was great that in every story I found some interest...

Interesting biografies and interviews must read

I bought this book after I saw the poetry Shah Rukh Khan’s poetry on You Tube. He had recited it at the launch. So I googled the book and found it interesting. The best part about the book for me was to read all the comments of the friends and family members of the women. It shows you the kind of equations that they share. And the interviews at the end of each chapter are really interesting. My favourite was Sachin Tendulkar speaking of Saina Nehwal and I also liked the one of Karan Johar t...
