Neal Stephenson pictures for you a near future dystopian hi-tech world run not by nations, rather by mafia, religious groups and others. If a plot involving cyber drugs , ancient middle eastern civilizations, linguistics, hacking computers and sword fighting, set in such a world sounds interesting to you, you'd love this book. I felt like this novel would make for an ultra cool sci-fi flick, even better than the Matrix series, if scripting or filming this is even possible.

If you even have a passing interest in linguistics, computer programming, ancient civilizations or guys who carry nuclear weapons in motorbikes, give this book a try. Chances are you will not be disappointed. Only flaw is that the ending might be underwhelming. Must read for all cyberpunk fans.
