  • Description

Someone Like You is a story about friendship, love, and betrayal, featuring the lives of five individuals as they face the trials and tribulations of growing up and heading off to college.

    Summary Of The Book

Niharika Singh is the protagonist of Someone Like You. She is a normal girl with whom many young women can identify with. Shy, having low self esteem, and lacking confidence, Niharika feels nonexistent and ugly, until the day her sister Simran gives her a makeover. This transforms Niharika, and helps her realize that she is a beautiful, young woman after all. She soon decides to attend college in a new city.

Niharika’s adventure truly begins when she befriends three boys, Karthik, Akshat, and Tanmay. Of the three, Tanmay becomes her best friend, Akshat remains out of bounds, because he is her sister’s ex-boyfriend, and Karthik remains a mystery, for whom Niharika has conflicted feelings. But later, Niharika discovers that his aggressiveness is simply a blanket to hide his past. She also goes on to make friends with Pia, who is also her roommate.

Things start to spice up when Tanmay develops an interest for Pia. Pia begins reciprocating the same, but she is also involved in a long distance relationship with another boy named Vishal. Niharika and Akshat also begin to question their feelings for each other, adding more spice to the saga.

Although readers are expecting unresolved love stories, the novel takes unexpected twists and turns, much to the readers’ surprise.
Someone Like You was published in 2013 by Penguin. It debuted at the number 5 spot in Hindustan Times.

    Worth your money!

"Someone Like You" is totally worth your money and time! with the "typical-ness" it brings with itself.

The whole storyline seems a little refreshing as compared to Durjoy Datta's other attempts at writing. I am amazed how I was literally on my feet throughout the book as I was engrossed and occupied till the very last page.

Although, a few parts seemed repetitive and grammatical errors are like a- must for his books. Other than this, the book could easily fit for a 'one time read'.

    A book Worth Reading

I read Durjoy Datta/Nikita Singh's "Someone Like You". There's something interesting about these writers. The way Akshay Kumar lines up his movies at the period of 3-4 months consistently, Durjoy Datta and Nikita Singh do not fail to publish a new book every 4-5 months. Their fans would be the most satisfying fans in this country as they get to read their favorite author every time they just start missing them. :-) There's something interesting about this book too. It is not the way all the b...

An Interesting Read- Loved the chemistry of friendship, love and drama. Keeps you tuned!

Someone Like You , is truly a must read. It keeps the reader turning the pages for more, I got the book only today and here i am writing a review to a wonderful book. The characters are well portrayed and has traits that every single one us can identify with. Its not your classic love story, but the elements of drama, friendship and chemistry between the characters makes it a more realistic love saga. I lived a brief life in ICE, and rejoiced and felt sad with the characters. The story truly ...
