I buyed black one. I don't know the pros and cons. But i will simply write what my experience is
1.The mdr xb550 ap is loud enough.
2.There is not a single distortion even in highest volume, in fact I felt like the music quality is improving when volume is increased
3.It looks pretty professional & nice in my opinion,but it's not flashy design as mdr 450
4.It fits pretty much well in my ears & cushion is very good.
5.Bass is good enough ( far enough for many people) but it is not that mu...

Except the build ( padding on band, metal hinges) there is no improvement in sound quality over MDR 450. ( I have 450 earlier now 550 too). Bit disappoint ed there.
the mic button doesn't work with my Redmi k20 pro.
Overall, it's decent headphone nothing too special. It has extra added bass. Durability of Sony headphone were always great as observed from previous ones.
Boat rockers delivers better sound than this but their durability is poor.

great headphones & sounds great too.
the sound quality and bass are nicely balanced.
FYI those who own a LG G & V series & pixels and GALAXY NOTE & S series phone the are going to shine like a bright star at this price point.
i have a g5 plus and the sound out put via google play (in 3d audio equalizer) is just fabulous

This the best price to performance headphone. I'll start with the pros - best audio quality , the looks are great, I like them more than the xb450 also you are getting the sony performance Cons - It'll get warmer with continuous usage. you have to remove it after some time. but that's not a deal breaker as I have used my friends beats and they also tend to get warmer to ears. A:450 has shinier finish on the earpiece and 550 has matte finish. Audio quality is the same. So, overall 550 looks and sounds better, but is more expensive. I say, go for 450.
