    Flipkart Official Review

Siddharth Agarwal also known as Sid is a mess. His fifteen-year long marriage is falling apart. His parents are selfish and do not seem to understand his point of view. His boss is being a boss. His friends do not care. So everything is literally falling apart. With all of this happening in his life, Neha makes an entry – a single mom, full of charm, wit and confidence. Will she be the answer to all his problems? For that, you have to read this book.

Yashodhara Lal’s writing is witty and also full of empathy. It is a wonder that being a woman she has created a full-rounded, flawed and confused male protagonist. I think everyone can relate to Sid and what he goes through. At the same time, the writing is lucid and does not stretch too much on any one issue or scene. A light read for a day that you do not want something literary.

    Description

A thirty-six year old finds his life breaking apart in front of him with his marriage failing, his parents demeaning him and his friends backstabbing him. Yashodhara Lal’s Sorting Out Sid is the story of how one single mom arrives into his life, and perhaps lends it light once again.Siddharth Aggarwal’s life was good. He had been married for fifteen years now, his friends loved him and he was about to become the company’s youngest Vice President ever. But behind the calm front, his life is actually falling apart. His marriage is on the verge of failing disastrously, his parents think he is still a teenager and his friends are backstabbing him continuously. Add a machiavellian HR to the recipe and his life becomes a live volcano waiting to erupt. Enter Neha, a sprightly single mom who seems to be everything Sid has been missing in his life. Of course, she could also be the one reactant this mixture has been missing to let everything explode in Sid’s face. Sorting Out Sid is a tale of wit, humour and life’s finest details.

    A Great Read !

Yashodhara Lal has a special skill to induce laughter even from day-to-day mundane incidents and Sorting Out Sid is a book which is sure to make you smile . Meeting the protagonist Siddharth Agarwal aka Sid is like meeting a guy-next-door. We are so acquainted with his idiosyncrasies , his unintentional messing up of things ...like " So ! when is the baby due ? " ..he blurts out as soon as he points a slightly bulging tummy ! Just think of the embarrassment of the lady who fails to shed tha...

A great gift for the men in your life

Faced with a career that is going nowhere, a failing marriage and parents you do your best to avoid, what do you do?

Sid does all the things we do: drink too much, eat too little, mess up at work and jump to all the wrong conclusions. The real strength of this book is in its refusal to judge anybody, not the clinging parents, not the hysterical wife, and certainly not our messed up, tossed up hero.

Written in fluent, funny prose, Sorting Out Sid is a perfect slice of our lives. There's a lo...

Sorting out Sid - A Journey of Excitement, Humour, and Dreams

It is a must go book if you want a light right while you take a two hour flight or a train. It is a pretty good book for going on a reading ride.

When I started reading this book, I was like ohh wow...he is like me, like my room mate, or like my boss. I can relate to the character, the setting, and everything around in the book. There is a good, passionate, and hard working character Sidharth aka Sid. There is her wife Mandira and then his passions for poetry, lively evenings, and after all...

Sorting out Sid: More than meets the eye!

Yashodhara Lal looks at life through her own, unique lens, which makes her writing irresistible. She is authentic, funny, poignant, profound, all at the same time. Her protagonist, Sid, seems to have it all, but his life suffers from a very common malady in today's times- since he slots himself into Sid-in-a-particular role much of the time, he feels inauthentic and frustrated. His most authentic conversations are with his beloved beer bottles and his beanbag, Brownie. His relationships with ...

Chicken Soup for the Troubled Soul...

'Sorting out Sid' is the book equivalent of a Friends episode - it will be the perfect pick me up to a bad day or week. The more you read and laugh at Sid and his problems, the simpler your own will seem. After all, you don't have a weird boss, a crumbling marriage, nosey parents, a new love AND a back-stabbing best friend to deal with all at the same time, do you? And even if you, by the time you are done reading the book you will realize that in the end, things will be just fine.

    For fans...

    So Sorted - Mr Sid!

The reason why decided to pick this book was two fold
    1) The author - have read her first book and I had absolutely loved her style of writing
    2) The cover and the title of the book - it reminded me of Wake Up Sid, the movie I can watch endless times. It is just so 'masala"

Coming to the book now -> an easy read with fantastic storyline that you would often find yourself in bouts of laughter. Mr Sid is a very carefully carved yet a well researched character. I would say there is a little ...
