Speech and Language Processing  (English, Paperback, Jurafsky Daniel)

This is by far the best book for text and speech processing.Daniel Jurafsky is considered the god of NLP and speech processing, and this new edition serves as the treasure trove for Ph.D studens working in the field of Text Mining and Speech processing.
It supplements the same course offered by the author in Coursera. Simply go for it as this one is the latest edition.

absolute must read. anyone who wants to speech or NLP must go through the fundas here in this book first. All tools/functions one will see in ultimately use concepts pelt out here.

As my area of research is the same, I've ordered the book and found it very useful for study of topics of my interest. Had just browsed through the pages of the book, so for detailed overview you have to wait for little more time. Over all in first glance it seemed quite useful.

This is an excellent book written by the leading researchers in the area of natural language processing, no doubt about the content.

The only drawback of this edition of the book is that it doesn't have a detailed table of contents, the TOC given in the book just lists the name of the chapters and not specific topics inside them. Also, the index at the end of the book seemed inaccurate (pointing to incorrect page numbers), probably they did not update it after reducing the pages in the book.
