  • Description

A Storm Of Swords 2: Blood And Gold is the second part of the third novel in George R. R. Martin’s epic fantasy series, A Song of Ice And Fire. It picks up the threads of the plot from its predecessor and continues to focus on the gripping War of the Five Kings, which is being fought against the backdrop of the seven kingdoms of Westeros and the harshness of the winter. It highlights the problems of the ordinary man in the face of the civil war.

In this book, the villagers embark on a journey to Frostfangs to gather ice and stone. Going by their careful planning, they will be led South by Brother Mance Rayder, a rebel.

In the Kingdom of the North, Robb Stark assumes the mantle of the new king. Meanwhile, his sisters are being held captive in the land of the Lannisters, Stark’s enemies. They are at the mercy of Joffrey the young king, and his mother Cersei.

Elsewhere, Daenerys Stormborn prepares to return to her homeland and avenge the death of her father, who happened to be the last Dragon King ruling the Iron Throne.

A Storm Of Swords 2: Blood And Gold was first published in the year 2000. The UK, Israeli, Polish, and Australian editions split the novel into two parts. However, the US edition, also published in the same year, presented both parts of the third novel in a single volume. The book won a Locus Poll Award for Best Fantasy Novel (2003), and a Premio Ignotus for Best Foreign Novel (2006).

    Epic series continues :D

I have finished the 2nd book now. I will start this epic book now. Can't contain my excitement. Reading these books is much better than watching 10 hrs where few important details are often missed. I am glad to have decided to make a collection.

Well as per book, i ordered both the parts at once. The print is legible and really good quality . I always trust harper voyager publication. And flipkart delivered it within 30 hrs. Super fast. :D

Buy Only If You Are A Hardcore Fan

The book's broader than its first part Storm of swords- Steel and snow with some extra pages but then paper quality is the same. This one is imported version though its difficult to make out from the looks of it. I would say unless you are a hardcore fan go for the non imported one. That extra 56 pages for extra Rs.500 is not worthy. As far as flipkart service is concerned its flawless. very good packaging and very quick delivery.

    Unputdownable

Yes I've said, it is really unputdownable. The first part of this book is just slow and it keeps buidling the tension and all of a sudden it all explodes in this book and you are left thinking "Did I just read that?". Oh my god the stakes are higher and the plot just moves at a rapid pace and once you get to the last 100 pages you are just short on breath and you don't seem to know the time move. Exhilirating!!! The best book of the series.

P.S I have not read the storm of crows and dance w...

    Not good

The book's condition is not good. Its torn from some places, the edges are folded. I think it's mostly because it wasn't packaged properly, just put the book directly in the Flipkart cover without even the laminated plastic that's usually there on books. Not happy with the product but can't return/replace as it'll take another 8-10 days to get delivered and I can't wait that much to read it.
