A post graduate in rural development, Nitin Puri has always engaged himself with various social, political and economic affairs relevant to all of us. This endeavour has taken him to 7 different states of India to try and understand the problems of various geographies. During these times, he has worked with various development initiatives to gain a keen understanding of problems faced by the different sections of our society. He has work experience of almost 7 years which gives a realistic perspective to his writings. The academic endeavours have also enabled him to juxtapose the local issues with the broader, bigger and more international ones. The idea for this book came in the remote town of Bankura in West Bengal when he contemplated that his knowledge and ideas need to be put into words to create a domino of discussion and exchanges. At that moment, he decided to be a full-time writer and started the journey to pen down the experiences that define him.
