Sula (English, Paperback, Morrison Toni)
Sula is a novel written by Toni Morrison, the winner of the 1993 Nobel Prize for Literature.
Summary of the Book
Nel and Sula always shared each other's discoveries and dreams as girls. After a few years, Sula runs away to live her dreams and Nel gets married. After a decade or so, Sula returns and no one, least of all Nel, trusts her! Sula is the tale of the fear that makes people submit to self-pity, the fear that will not face escape, and that defends itself through myth and legend. Sula is cast as a witch and demon by the people who hate her strength. They attack her with the most persistent weapon of all – the weapon of language and story. But she is a woman of grit, a rebellious force who defies the littleness of a world that tries to hold her down.
