There are still many arguments as to why Shivaji Maharaj went to Agra, because how could Aurangzeb, who killed his own father and other brothers, treat Shivaji Maharaj with courtesy? Such a question arises and this is the origin of the play. The play explores the state of mind of Shivaji Maharaj while he was imprisoned in Agra, his thoughts and the moderate action taken in accordance with those thoughts, while on the other hand Aurangzeb's ideas about Swarajya, the conspiracies against Shivaji Maharaj, and his surgery are highlighted.
