Dr. Rakesh has been associated with tobacco control for last 20 years as a committed worker. He has established India’s first smoke-free city (Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan) besides his credible role in establishing tobacco-free workplaces and “Systems Approach” to deliver tobacco dependence treatment and tobacco cessation clinics (TCCs) in Hospitals in addition to establishment of all quitlines in India till date. In addition, besides educating and empowering masses on ways and outcomes of an effective and successful tobacco control through television, radio, print and social media, he continues making various groups and communities aware and motivated to lead a tobacco-free life.
