Bounce Cards are used to diffuse or spread out the light in such a way that instead of coming from one concentrated source it spreads out through bounce, thus getting rid of harsh light and shadows. Pictures are much better when the light source is directional and larger. All that is needed for this is a ceiling or the walls around. It is a type of reflector having matt white surface on one side & other side with a textured aluminium foil pasted fabric. You aim the flash towards the ceiling preferably with the head tilted at 45 degree which acts as a bounce surface & the card reflects some portion of light which refracts towards the subject. As a matter of fact you create two light source with the help of one bounce card.
