The book is amply illustrated with diagrams. Almost all important genera are discussed giving details of structure, anatomy, developmental stages of reproductive organs from different sections like Bryophytes, Pteridophytes and Gymnospersm. Paleobotany section deals with important fossil genera from Pteridophytes and Gymnospersm. Various comparisons of different genera are given in all sections. Experimental studies of Bryophytes, Pteridophytes and Gymnospersms are discussed from recent literature.||About the Author||A.V.S.S. Sambamurty, Senior Reader, Department of Botany, Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, has been teaching Genetics and Taxonomy to B.Sc. (Gen.) and B.Sc. (Hons.) students for the past three decades. He has participated in several Indian and foreign symposia, seminars and congresses. He is a Fellow of the Genetic Society of India and the Botanical Society of India, besides being a member of several scientific bodies. He has authored more than 15 textbooks for B.Sc. and M.Sc. students of Botany. Some of them include: Taxonomy of Angiosperms; A Textbook of Algae; Dictionary of Genetics; and A Textbook of Plant Pathology.
