  • Description

Textbook of Finite Element Analysis is a complete reference for all mechanical engineering students. It helps students understand how to use the principles of matrix algebra in solving problems in structural mechanics. The book also helps readers understand how to form stress tensors, understand the properties of materials and prepare problems for computational analysis. It helps students write computational models which can then be loaded into simulation software for testing. The book follows the syllabus set by universities across India and helps students understand how to apply the fundamental theories of mechanics of materials to real world problems involving composite materials with 3D properties.

    Best book on FEA

I issued this book from my college library once and as I was reading it I felt so good. I understood the concepts so very well that I decided to buy a copy of my own, So then and there itself I booked it over flipkart. I tried a lot of books on FEA like Chandrupatla etc but they were all vague and had no flow. This book starts with the basics and there is a flow and you will understand the concepts and how FEA actually came. I am very satisfied with this book. Any one who is new to this topi...

Strong recommendation for a beginner in FEM

FEM is a very hectic subject untill we know what this method is trying to do other methods cannot...
All numerical methods such as FDM, Rayleigh ritzs etc.. tries to solve the governing differential equation. i.e its more mathematics than mechanics. while doing my M.Tech project my professor suggested me to read this book.Coming to the review, Prof P. Seshu has presented a complex concept in a more lucid and self explanatory manner, really friends after reading this book you definitely like F...

    Wrong book to start with.

Seriously, not worth to begin FEM with this book. Full of mathematical expression only and has not given concept or explanation clearly as why some formulation has happened. Reader is left to wonder why some procedure is done and if this book is followed as course book, he has no option left but to mug up values of matrices even upto 4th order.

Disappointed as book was written by IIT Prof.
