Other Features | - Printing: Full Colour Format ---- Binding: Softcover ---- No. of page: 475 pp PREFACE TO THE FOURTH EDITION----->The third edition of this book became vastly popular among medical and dental students and teachers across the country. As I had stated in the preface of the 3rd edition, the success of the book lies in the concept building approach, simple language and plenty of handdrawn simple and reproducible diagrams. Similar features have been retained in this 4th edition as well. Moreover, to further improve the book, following new features have been added in this edition ----> Many new photomicrographs are included and old ones are improved. Care has been taken to print otomicrograph in large size to show details. The pithelial lining for almost all the organs is shown in high magnification. ----> Many handdrawn diagrams, both line diagrams and those drawn by pink and violet colour pencils, have been replaced with better, accurate and large-sized diagrams, enabling fine clarity. ----> All the illustrations in this edition are printed in light colour so that they are soothing to eyes. ----> New feature of the book is that the important facts are highlighted as "REMEMBER" in boxes in the chapters. This will act as a ready-reckoner, and a quick review of all "REMEMBER" boxes of a chapter will act as summary of that chapter. ----> New information has been added to keep the text up-to-date. ----> As the previous editions were found to be congested with text and illustrations, the format of the 4th edition has been changed to single column, facilitating easy flow of the matter. ----> Similar to the 3rd edition, those details, which beginners can skip (but are essential for postgraduate students) are printed on background colour under the heading "Further Details.” I believe that the above changes in the 4th edition of this book will be a valuable learning resource for the students. I am deeply indebted to the Dr Shreni Jain and Dr Shradha Jain for working hard to draw the histologically accurate diagrams. I am also thankful to many teachers and students, who have given valuable suggestions to improve the 4th edition. I am extremely thankful to Dr Ramesh Badlani, Chairman, Modern Institute of Medical Science, Indore. I would also like to thank the members of my family, for their continuous support and encouragement. I would highly appreciate and welcome suggestions from teachers and students to improve this book for the next editon. ----> GP Pal
