Noam Chomsky is one of the most widely published and influential thinkers on language and mind. This book consists of an edited transcript of a lecture, delivered at the University of Delhi in January 1996, where Chomsky reflects on the history of the "generative enterprise" to relate it to some strikingly novel advances in grammatical theory.
Have read Chomsky's writings on Middle east, US state policies, government across the world and media empires. So just to explore his writings in his core academic field, I bought this book. Well it can be like 'Chinese' for those who are new to linguistics, and still tougher when you have no clue of it at all (like me).
Will still recommend it, because even if you won't understand the technical explanations, you still will end up getting 'great insight' into the language.
