Author of over fifty books, Georgette Heyer is the best-known and best-loved of all historical novelists, who made the Regency period her own. Her first novel, The Black Moth, published in 1921, was written at the age of seventeen to amuse her convalescent brother; her last was My Lord John. Although most famous for her historical novels, she also wrote eleven detective stories. Georgette Heyer died in 1974 at the age of seventy-one.

She does it Again!!

Many people think reading just one novel by Heyer is enough to get an idea of all her novels, and in many cases they wouldn't be wrong. 'Corinthian' too seems like another typical Heyer romance, with a rakish male lead and an innocent but vivacious female lead. However, Heyer surprises with her delivery, making the sequences wittier than ever. I didn't think it possible but obviously it is!! For those of you who enjoyed 'Black Sheep' and 'Venetia', this novel will NOT seem disappointing.
