Hitchens brings out his ideas about the selected essays by philosophers, scientists, and thinkers like Lucretius, Darwin, Marx, Bertrand Russell, Mark Twain, Emma Goldman, George Eliot, Einstein, H. L. Mencken, Carl Sagan, Sam Harris, Daniel Dennett, Richard Dawkins and Victor J. Stenger. Original articles written by Salman Rushdie, Ian McEwan, and Ayaan Hirsi Ali are also included. Hitchens has written the introductions to each article in this anthology.
About Christopher Hitchens
Christopher Hitchens, one of the famous ‘Four Horsemen of the Non-Apocalypse’, was a British American author, polemicist, journalist, and debater. He was most famous and equally criticized for his bold statements on religion and they were often called ‘hitchslap’. He had contributed regularly to some of the most famous publications including New Statesman, The Atlantic, Vanity Fair, The London Review of Books, and The Nation. Some of his other famous books are God is Not Great, Hitch 22, Letters to a Young Contrarian, The Missionary Position, and Why Orwell Matters.
