What would you do if you were allowed to commit any crime that you’d want to for a brief period? How far beyond morality would your actions go? Directed by James DeMonaco and starring Academy Award-nominee Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey (Game of Thrones’ Cersei Lannister) and Max Burkholder, The Purge is a sci-fi thriller that is set in America in the future where the government allows a 12-hour period in which any crime is legal. Now, a man, his wife and their two children must do everything within their power to save themselves from the cruel outsiders who encroach on their property with every evil intention in mind. Will the family have to become the savages that they are being hunted down by? Or can they find a more diplomatic way to escape this nightmarish situation?
