When an infestation is consuming an entire city, who will come to rid the place of the plague? Directed by Miriam Chandy Menacherry, The Rate Race is a documentary that tells the tale of Mumbai’s rat killers. The film follows the many individuals of the city who set out each night to exterminate the rats that dwell in abundance in dimly lit alleys and crowded marketplaces. Centered around one rat killer in specific, it shows the struggles that he has to go through by scouring the city each night in order to earn a basic wage and provide for his beloved children.
