About K. Ullas Karanth
K. Ullas Karanth is an esteemed Indian conservation zoologist. He was born in Puttur, Karnataka. He is associated with the New York based Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) as a Senior Conservation Scientist and as the Technical Director of the WCS Tiger Conservation Programme. He has been honoured with the Padma Shri award for this pioneering and extraordinary work towards environment protection and wildlife conservation. A View from the Machan, Monitoring Tigers and Their Prey and Camera Traps in Animal Ecology are some of his other works. He has also penned three books in Kannada. Most of his writings have been constantly published in various journals across the world.
