Author Info | - Johny Chengalan is a native of Kerala, India. He is the third among the ten surviving children born to Souru and Mariam, who struggled a great deal to bring up the family. His parents led a frugal life all the while maintaining the highest level of integrity. He was schooled in Kerala. He obtained a Master’s degree in history with gold medal from the North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He found his passion in teaching and worked as a teacher in private schools in Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Later, he joined Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (Khumbong) in Manipur, in 1996, as a postgraduate teacher of History, from where he was transferred to Kottayam, Kerala. In 2005, he joined Saint Peter’s Senior Secondary School, Kadayiruppu, Ernakulam, Kerala, as its principal. He had brief stints as the principal of CBSE schools in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and in Porbandar, Gujarat. Currently, he serves as the director of Christava Mahilalayam Schools in Aluva, Kerala. He has inspired his students to aspire for the best in life and contribute their mite to the society they live in. His work reflects his areas of interest, namely history and school education. Thottuva Tales of an Ox, an Elephant and a River is his first work.
