What I can say about this book in a single word is "WOW!!!". The book gives a very good knowledge and problem solving ability in every aspects of Abstract Algebra, starting from Set Theory , and to every direction of Abstract Algebra like Group Theory, Subgroups, Ring, Fields etc. etc. The thing that I liked mostly from this book is that this book gives a person the ability to visualize what Abstract Algebra is, a person can think about the subject, can get new ideas in his/her mind. If you have SK Mapa for abstruct algebra then you don't need this. This book have some more worked example. But they are not necessary for Calcutta University math honors exam.

As for errors, this book has some. In the definition of 'group', they completely ignore the closure property. Yup, they may have included it in the definition of binary operation. But this is not some research level book! When you write only 3 properties in the definition of group, you will obviously get a zero marks ...
