    • Mirza Asmer Beg is professor in the department of Political Science at the Aligarh Muslim University. He specializes in Strategic Studies and electoral politics. He has a keen interest in Muslim politics in India. Among his recent publications are two edited volumes entitled, ‘Empowerment of Indian Muslims: perspectives, planning and the road ahead’ and ‘Perspectives on National Integration’. Some of his recent research papers have been published in the Economic and Political Weekly, Seminar, Humanities and Social Science Review, and in two edited books published by the Oxford University Press. He is the editor of the Indian Journal of Politics and is on the editorial board of several journals.
