Summary of the Book

Elena Gilbert, a lovely young girl, is no stranger to challenges. She has faced several of them – defeating phantoms, escaping the Dark Dimension, and finding out she is a Guardian. But she is more terrified of her heart being torn in two for the loves of her life – the vampire brothers Stefan Salvatore and Damon Salvatore. She is with Stefan, but she is also trying to save Damon’s soul, as he has become erratic and dark due to rejection. While doing so, she also miserably wonders about her staying true to Stefan. Who, of the brothers, will Elena end up with?
