Vedanta philosophy, authored by Maharishi Ved Vyas, holds a prominent position among the six classical schools of Indian philosophy. As it extensively explores the nature of Brahman, it is also known as the Brahmasutra. Since this text presents the ultimate essence of the Vedas or spiritual knowledge, it is widely referred to as Vedanta-Darshan. This school of thought is also called Uttar Mimamsa Darshan and focuses on the concept of the embodied soul. While some scholars argue that the various Indian philosophies are in mutual opposition, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati asserts that there is no such conflict—rather, these philosophies complement and support one another.
