K. VIJAY KUMAR is a former officer in the Indian Police Service (IPS) and was the Chief of the Special Task Force (STF) that was behind the encounter of the dreaded bandit Veerappan during Operation Cocoon in 2004. Mr. Kumar, a 1975 batch IPS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, headed the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad in 2008 and served as the Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) from 2010 to 2012. He is currently Senior Security Adviser in the Home Ministry.

Just wow!

I have read through the book fully. The Book keeps you engaged. The last Few pages will let You feel that You were present in the suituation. It Can improve your vocabulary Knowledge. But its not the entire content of veerappan life.

Excellent narration

Its a interesting read especially the difficulty and challenges faced by STF in finally nabbing the brigand. However it fails short of giving information much less the details about the financing and backers of veerapan or his trading in tusk which a common man generally know.

But never the less a very interesting read, you just cannot keep the book off your eyes. Definitely worth a buy & read. Very well written.
