Eric Carle is acclaimed and beloved as the creator of brilliantly illustrated and innovatively designed picture books for very young children. In 2003, Carle received the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award (now called the Children's Literature Legacy Award) for lifetime achievement in children's literature. In 2002, Eric and his wife, Barbara, cofounded The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art (www.carlemuseum.org) in Amherst, Massachusetts, a 40,000-square-foot space dedicated to the celebration of picture books and picture book illustrations from around the world, underscoring the cultural, historical, and artistic significance of picture books and their art form. Nice one

This book is I think intended for children between 1 1/2 to 3. There's a lot of farm animals that appear in the book and the noises they make and things they like to do. This particular version is also a touch and feel book,young children can run their fingers over the web or over the spider and feel it. I am giving this a 3 star, not because this is an average book, but because I bought this for my son, who is now 3 1/2. He is well-versed with most of the animals appearing in the story, so h...

Bed time Read for Kids!

It's a bed time read for my kids.
We enjoy reading how hard the spider works all through the day just like Mum and Dad. How all the other animals try and distract the spider and yet the spider stays focussed on building his home?
Then the spider falls asleep in its magnificent home after a long tiring day.
By then my sons are generally yawning and really sleepy!
