  • Description
Fennel Herb Seeds - Florence Fennel Romanesco has round, compact and pure white bulbs with good resistance to bolting. The bulbs can weigh up to 1kg. A late maturing variety which is best sown in late spring, fennel can be eaten raw or steamed. You can use the leaves as well as the swollen stems (as the bulb is actually the swollen stem base). Fennel seeds are used in teas and tinctures as a digestive aid, expectorant, and a tonic for the spleen, kidneys, and reproductive system. Potassium, found in high levels in fennel bulbs and seeds, is an electrolyte, which means that it facilitates increased electrical conduction throughout the body. It is also a rich source of vitamin C and calcium.Seed Type : Superior Quality, Non-Hybrid, Pure, Open Pollinated, GMO-Free, and Heirloom (with an Unadulterated Genetic Heritage) Herb Seeds. Tested For Germination. Sowing Time : Late April - May. Sowing Distance : 20-30 cm Plant to Plant. Maturity : 60-70 days. How To Sow : Sow the florence fennel seeds direct outside in a well prepared sunny spot. Sow these vegetable seeds about 1cm deep in late April-May when the temperatures reach 14-18 Celsius. Leave about 40cm between the rows. Keep the plants well watered especially in hot, dry periods. You can use the leaves at any time, and harvest the seeds too when they fully ripen. Start harvesting the stems when they reach tennis ball size.
