The name Vincent’s Ear is inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s incident of cutting his left ear off. Here the ‘Ear is Love’ and we all are Vincent- cutting off the ear and leaving a little piece of it there as a remembrance.
What’s more difficult then defining love? There’s so many kinds and here I’m talking about one of them. Not the ‘You give me butterflies’ kind but ‘Being with you feels like coming home’ kind. Not the ‘I’ll do this for you because you want me to’ but the ‘I’m doing this for you because I want to ‘cuz I love you’ kind. The self-less one with true intimacy. A bit away from calls and texts and a bit closer to love letters and eye talks.
As we know, love is not all roses- it has thorns, toxic ones too. The heartache, miseries, sorrows, sufferings and never - ending synonyms of how bitter love can be, I know it.
It’s written in more of a classic over a contemporary way of writing. With this collection I’m trying to convey a journey of anybody who’s ever been in love. It’s sequenced story like collection where all the initial poems are about slowly falling in love gradually living in love and dying in it finally flying out of it.

I’m Aradhana Gawai, a BBA graduate from Symbiosis Centre For Management Studies, Pune. I have an unquenchable thirst to learn new things everyday and I love to sing! I live under the name Scarlet for my literary and art work. I was born in serene settings of Madhya Pradesh and brought up in n number of suburban cities across India. Nothing in my life has been constant. I grew up in the crevices of different homes and ever changing faces and friends. I always left a part of me wherever I lived and tattooed the essence of the places and people onto my mind. By the age of 12 I found my comfort between pages and ink and then gradually it became my only constant. My poems know be better than anyone- better than myself.
