At this price range,, you can either go for the samsung evo 750 or wd ssd green. i chose to go for the later as i have been using wd for years now. i bought it when my laptop's hdd crashed after just 2 years of usage and since i am a heavy and a rough user, i preferred to go for ssd this time. i won't go into details here, but i use a lot of designing and analysis softwares. even then, this has an amazing speed. booting takes not more than 5 seconds. shutdown is even faster if you close down...

its fast. upgraded my 2012 MacBook Pro and I saw a huge speed upgrade from HDD. don't know about the battery performance though it should be good theoretically. registered warranty through their website and got 3 years warranty as mentioned. don't hesitate to buy an SSD if u r thinking to upgrade from an HDD. also, Samsung and Western Digital both are giants and advanced in this field so its ur choice WD/Sam...
