As they journey through the swishy swashy long grass, the splishy splashy lake, and into the depths of the Big Dark Cave, they chant: We're going on a lion hunt. We're going to catch a big one. We're not scared. With David Axtell's vivid illustrations bringing the African landscape to life, young readers will delight in discovering the magnificent animals that inhabit this diverse ecosystem, from graceful giraffes to lumbering elephants. When the girls finally come face-to-face with their lion, a sudden twist sends them running back through each obstacle, adding an element of suspense to this classic tale. Perfect for reading aloud, We're Going on a Lion Hunt invites children to join in the sisters' brave chant as they explore the wonders and challenges of the African savanna.
