In these breathtaking intellectual adventure stories, covering everything from criminology to ketchup, job interviews to dog training, Malcolm Gladwell looks under the surface of everyday life to show how the most ordinary subjects can illuminate the most extraordinary things about us and our world. 'Masterpieces in the art of the essay' Steven Pinker, The New York Times 'Beautiful ... brings together the writing that made Gladwell the extraordinary figure he is today ... one of the most imaginative non-fiction writers of his generation' Ian Sample, Guardian 'Chatty, perceptive, impish and amiable ... Comes exuberantly close to ... what goes on inside other people's heads' Philip Womack, Daily Telegraph 'Gladwell makes the world seem fresh and exciting again' Evening Standard

WEARISOME AT THE START, SPECTACULAR BY THE END

Malcom Gladwell’s book, What the dog saw, is a collection of selected articles originally posted in the New Yorker. It is divided into three parts, the first part focuses at specific individuals while other two is a more collaborative depiction of the topic in discussion. There are a total of 19 stories. Intellectually invigorating read!

Gladwell makes the reader think! He takes the reader on the least used thought-process and gives bizarre insights and anecdotes, making one more intelligent and broad-minded than before! This book consists of an assortment of stories and ideas, making it all the more pleasurable and interesting.

    Poor show by Gladwell

Not in the league of Outliers or Blink ! The unbelievable research that goes into each of Gladwell's books can be seen in this one too. But this here appears to be rather of a drag than interestingly informative ! Gladwell's skill to make the mundane exciting is conspicuous in its absence !
