This book is well written like all of Tharoor's books. The first half of the book is about our ancient traditions and evolution of our relegion and philosophy. The Second half is a detailed history of the Hindutva movement starting from Hindu Mahasabha, RSS, Janasangh, and BJP and how they succeeded in dividing the people of this country. Worth the money
Eventhough I disagree with the views of Dr Tharoor this book is a must read. He narrates the surge of Hindutva politics and carefully analyses the Hindutva theories of Veer Savarkar and M.S Golvalkar aka Guruji. The ideology of RSS has been analysed and his definition of Hindutva is also shared through this book. I feel that he is bit more cautious about his views becoz being a congress leader he has a lot of limitation in going deep into the contribution of Sangh to Hindu society.
