    • William Shakespeare was a poet, actor, and playwright from England. He was born on April 26, 1564 in Stratford- Avon. Shakespeare is often regarded as the greatest English-language writer and the world's greatest dramatist. He is referred to as the Bard of Avon and England's national poet. During his lifetime, Shakespeare authored around 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and a few other works. His plays have been performed more than any other playwright's and have been translated into every major living language. Between 1589 and 1613, Shakespeare penned the majority of his well-known works. His early works primarily consisted of comedies and histories, and they are still considered among the best in both categories. William’s tragic play Othello’ was probably written in 1603. The play was entered into the Register of the Stationers Company on 6 October 1621, by Thomas Walkley, and got published in 1622. After a year of success, the play got included among the plays in the First Folio of Shakespeare's collected plays. Due to its enduring themes of passion, jealousy, and race, Othello is still topical and popular and is widely performed, with numerous adaptations and it has enjoyed popularity among the readers from the Jacobean period to the present day.
