The plot of the book A Dilli-Mumbai Love Story is set against the backdrop of the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai. The simple love story follows the lives of Anirudh and Aparajita, and the complicated turn that their lives take during the terror attacks.

Summary Of The Book

Anirudh Hirani is an economics graduate from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and Aparajita Pinto is an IIT graduate from Goa. Like a typical Delhi boy, he is rich and rides a Ducati, while she hails from a middle class family and belongs to a different religion.

The differences hardly matter, though, as the two meet and instantly fall in love. They get married and their life together runs smoothly and happily, till the 26/11 Mumbai attacks happen.

Aparajita is trapped inside the Taj Hotel with a friend. Anirudh is devastated when he tries to maintain contact with her and, when he can no longer speak to her, tries desperately to get some news about her. The story switches between time lines and goes back and forth, and readers are exposed to their happy past and their life together, along with the terrifying present that unfolds through the eyes of the media.

The author has written the story in an easy and contemporary style, and the characters and situations are realistic.

About Abhimanyu Jha

Abhimanyu Jha is an entrepreneur, author, and educator. He is an IIT and IIM graduate.

A Dilli-Mumbai Love Story is his first and only novel.

Jha is an expert in marketing communication. He runs a company called TalentBridge with his friends, bringing students and potential employers together. He has deep knowledge about the educational curriculum and content design, and designs teaching aids.

unique, fresh & very entertaining !

When I first picked up the book, I was a bit skeptical that it will turn out to be another mushy love story. But the book takes you by surprise. In an age where relationships are so often marked by frivolity and the mundane, A Dilli Mumbai Love Story is like a breath of fresh air. The book is an excellent read for all die-hard romantics. Just One word "Mesmerizing"

I was thinking of gifting something to "Jerry" from Flipkart on our anniversary. I was going through the books and i did not find anything special including "A Dilli Mumbai love story". When i first read the title frankly speaking i wasn't impressed. I thought its just another book exploring relationships..Read the reviews..but was still skeptic weather i should buy it or not.

Worth the money..

Well the book is just hmmm...worth your money, time and interest. It keeps you hooked till the time you don't finish it.Not one page is boring.Didn't want Ani to die..infact I was hoping for some kind of a miracle in the end but that's ok. Actually we are so used to happy endings that we don't want the main protagonists dead after facing so much.
Overall nice and fun to read.Do come up with more such books Mr. Jha.

worth a read..romantic thrilling story..

The novel is definately a good romantic story ...and daily life challenges adding thrills to it. The protagonist's love affair represents indian middle class stories around that we hear day in and out.
The book is fast paced.. and will keep you glued till the end. Well written ..in simple english with local hindi words. I would have prefered to thrill open at the end rather having premonition since the start.. and in middle of story..

Initially when I heard the name of the book I thought it would be something related to Film industry/ Modeling but I was wrong. Nice Book

I loved the simplicity of the book. The story was ok but the presentation was good.. the uses of hindi in between helped me to better connect with the characters.. sometimes finding their situation quite similar to mine.. In short, I had a nice experience reading the book.
