Summary Of The Book

A Walk Down The Lane....., published in 2011, tells a contemporary love story of two unusual characters. Shuvika, a 28 year old banker, is on a vacation at a jungle resort to celebrate New Year with her friends. She also hopes to find some time for herself, and enjoy her freedom amidst nature. At the resort, she meets Joyneel, her old neighbour’s son. A 40 year old divorcee, he is now an artist and photographer. His photo exhibition has brought him to this resort.

A meeting after twelve years between the two turns out to be a life changer. Though they initially start spending time together as acquaintances, gradually love blossoms. Joyneel, a person who had lost all faith in love and relationships, starts to develop feelings for Shuvika. As the two of them spend time with each other, he fears that expressing his affection towards her might jeopardize their friendship.

A Walk Down The Lane....., Sarkar’s first publication, showcases to the readers a saga that takes place in a faraway forest resort. Will a four day holiday bring two completely different individuals together? The author has developed the characters beautifully to present an unusual tale of love between an older man and a younger woman.

She has previously worked with Citigroup and HSBC Bank. Originally from Jabalpur, she has subsequently lived in Bhilai, Indore, Nagpur, and Raipur. Sarkar has always been a voracious reader.
