Boring
The book is like a history text book. I wish the book provided profound inputs, on the history of tamilakam and its trade partners. Most of what is contained in the book is common knowledge to any south indian. The writer lacks the ability to hold the reader interested in the topics covered. Many topics are repeated over and over. People doing a PhD on Tamil Merchants can buy the book, just so that it can act as a reference.
