    About Irfan Habib

    Irfan Habib is an Indian Marxist historian of ancient and medieval India. He is famous for his stand against Islamic fundamentalism. He has authored a number of books including The Agrarian System of Mughal India and The Atlas of the Mughal Empire. He has received the Watumull Prize of American Historical Association and the Padma Bhushan in 2005. He was a Professor of History at Aligarh Muslim University from 1969 to 1991.
