Alfie is a 14 year old orphaned midget. He has just one wish – to grow tall. He believes that would help him gain lots of adoring friends and even impress Charlene, the girl of his dreams. Interesting fairy tale for kids
Got my copy of the book and was quite excited to see the images in the inside cover of the book... a novelty when it comes to such books in the market. The author has a penchant for underdog characters as shown in his earlier book Knocked Up as well as this. However, this book covers the story of an orphan 14 year old kid. Enjoyed reading Alfie the Elf while I was in the salon getting my hair coloured. It was written in a simple and easy to comprehend style, so necessary for kids to understand. The book has been released at the right time -- Christmas about which the book i about. I am sure kids who get it as a gift for Christmas will enjoy the uncomplicated story line.
Got hold of my copy of Alfie The Elf and I was pleasantly surprised to see the cover and the inside covers. The characters are well illustrated. The author has narrated a simple story in an unusual way. The characters are quite relatable and you will instantly identify with them. Hope to read more books from the author sooner. My recommendation, its value for money.
After decades I was able to relive my childhood days with this book. Shaiju remindes me of Enid Blyton's books. The story is unique and gripping. Every character brings out a unique shade and takes the tale ahead. A great buy this Christmas season for you and your kids. A definite buy.
